Suspect Arrested in Ghana Over Murder of FRSC Officer and Her Daughter

In a dramatic turn of events, Ghanaian police have arrested a Nigerian national accused of abducting and killing a female officer of Nigeria’s Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and her daughter. The suspect, 26-year-old Victor Benjamin Fajemirokun, was apprehended in Akyem Wenchi, a suburb of Akwatia, after fleeing Nigeria.

The arrest was confirmed by the Eastern South Regional Police Command during a press briefing on Sunday, November 23, 2025. DCOP George Ohene-Boadi, regional commander, said the operation was intelligence-led, prompted by a viral video that brought the case into the public spotlight.

According to Ghanaian authorities, Fajemirokun hid at a friend’s residence in Akyem Wenchi after leaving Nigeria to evade arrest. He is accused of being the prime suspect in the abduction and murder of Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi, an FRSC officer based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and her daughter, Sewa Lasisi.

The disappearance of Lasisi and her daughter shocked many when they went missing on November 2. According to Nigerian police and reports, their remains were later found in a suspected herbalist’s home in Osun State. In a tragic twist, the bodies were reportedly mutilated, raising serious concerns over the circumstances of their deaths.

Ghanaian police say they are coordinating closely with Nigerian authorities to expedite the extradition of Fajemirokun so he can face prosecution in Nigeria. DCOP Ohene-Boadi emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, noting that the arrest underscores Ghana’s commitment to cross-border security.

Authorities have also called on the public to remain vigilant, urging residents to report any suspicious individuals or activity in their communities.

The FRSC and Nigerian law enforcement agencies are now expected to work together in building a case against Fajemirokun as he awaits possible extradition back to Nigeria.
